How Do You Backup Your Data?

Your personal data is important to you whether it is on your laptop, desktop, cell phone, camera or other device. What would you do if it all just disappeared? Many things could cause this to happen so keeping every device backed up is vital. Hardware failure, accidental file deletion, and cyber attacks can be problematic when no backup is present. Make sure you know your options before a problem occurs. Some solutions include: external hard drive, flash drives, DVD's or CD's and Cloud-based services.

Computers require routine maintenance to keep everything running smoothly. The biggest problem most older computers face is overheating. This affects the components inside leading to a hardware failure. The first major component to fail is the Hard Drive. It's where your data is stored making it important to back up regularly. We are also more vulnerable to cyber attacks than ever before since technology keeps advancing. This allows criminals to take advantage if precautions aren't setup. The last biggest contributor to file loss is accidental deletion. We've all been there before without thinking and deleted something you needed. We are able to retrieve most deleted data using our software. If we can't, then we can send it off to the experts at DriveSavers for recovery. All of these issues are preventable as long as you have a backup.

There are several backup options available depending on your usage of the computer and space requirements. If you don't save to many items to your computer like documents, pictures, music, and videos then saving to smaller forms of storage like DVD's or flash drives would be best. However, if you use the computer daily then it's recommended to backup to a hard drive (internal or USB external drive). Many companies offer Cloud-based solutions like Carbonite, Norton, Microsoft OneDrive and Apple. You can choose from a variety of options to back up your data or ask our technicians which solution would be best for you.
